Synopsis

Gareth Armstrong’s brilliant staging of De Profundis, Oscar Wilde’s searing letter to his lover, written from his prison cell the night before his release.

The show also includes Wilde’s beautiful poem The Ballad of Reading Gaol, narrating the execution of Charles Thomas Wooldridge, convicted of murdering his wife.

With a specially commissioned score by Simon Slater.
