Synopsis

An exuberant big screen adaptation of the stage musical based on the Roald Dahl classic. Matilda tells the story of an extraordinary girl who dares to defy the odds and to take control of her own life, tackling her grotesque parents’ neglect and the intimidation of headmistress, Miss Trunchbull. The film is enormous fun, brimful of brilliant musical numbers and has a superb cast led by the impressive Alisha Weir in the title role and an almost unrecognisable Emma Thompson.
