Synopsis

This show is based on The Album titled  Take Love Easy by Ella Fitzgerald and Joe Pass.

Phil Brooke

Phil Brooke's playing style is the embodiment of humility and empathy and for that reason is held as indispensable to so many top musicians on the UK jazz scene. Phil hails from Leeds and cut his teeth in working men’s clubs back in the day when they were buzzing with big name TV cabaret and comedy stars. Phil has appeared on national TV and radio. However, Phil’s love of jazz outshone the glitz of show business, and he followed his ears and toured the jazz clubs and festival circuits of the UK, Europe, and Africa with the big jazz stars of the day: Kenny Ball, Acker Bilk, Beryl Bryden, Diz Disley, Mike Cotton, Kenny Baker. As well as performing on the traditional jazz circuit, and being a fine banjo player, Phil prefers to play guitar and his style emulates Wes Montgomery and Joe Pass.

Stella Goodey

Stella has sung professionally since 1995 and is billed as “Britain's Bessie Smith”. Her early years were spent singing in local clubs in Norfolk and then extensively in the UK and France. Combining experience, ease and inherent natural talent, Stella has utilised the full range of her blues -inflected voice to master a vast repertoire which encompasses such diverse genres as: classic blues, torch songs and modern vocalese.
