Synopsis
A Fundraiser for The Fisher Theatre.
Roger Eno began his professional path playing hits of the day and excerpts from musicals on an electric organ (equipped with cheesy rhythm box) in ‘The Cherry Tree’, Woodbridge.
Wishing only to make a living from music, Roger has played in jazz and punk bands, folk groups (on guitar/accordion), a German Oompah band (Tuba) and solo piano in restaurants and night clubs as well as Soho strip joints.
For two and a half years, he headed the music therapy department of a psychiatric hospital. This he then left to pursue a recording career which has given him an Emmy nomination (he was robbed of by some unknown called David Bowie) and has worked/recorded with David Gilmour, Lou Reed, Marianne Faithful, Jarvis Cocker, Tim Robbins, Martyn Carthy and Shane McGowen. He is now signed to Deutsche Grammophon and his music is regularly heard on BBC Radio 3 whether you listen to it or not.
Roger is privileged to give his time to rattle the can for the Fisher Theatre, a boon to the town and surrounding area and one which his own children both enjoyed, learned and benefitted greatly from. For this he gives heartfelt thanks.
