Timing by Alastair McGowan. Presented by UpShoot Theatre Company 2025 (PG)
Performances postponed
The polymath Alastair McGowan stepped into the world of play writing in 2009 with ‘Timing’, ‘a hilarious fast-paced, sharp-witted and touching real-time comedy’ (The Telegraph October 2009) about an aspect of one of his many career paths, as a Voice Over Artist.
He skilfully captures that period with a discerning eye. The play was nominated for the Best New Comedy in the Whatsonstage Awards 2009.
Julian Mann, a renowned Voice Over Artist goes to a usual day at the office, in a recording studio, but today he’s been paired with his Ex, Amanda Birmingham, who he hasn’t seen since they split up. A satirical snapshot of a period when advertising was booming.
