The Critic - BFC (15)
Sir Ian McKellen gives an acting masterclass in this atmospheric British drama.
He plays Jimmy Erskine, a vitriolic theatre critic, who finds himself engaged in a power struggle when his paper’s proprietor is succeeded by a son with radically different views.
The glamour of 30s London theatreland is recreated in exquisite detail, with beautifully lit interiors and wonderful costumes.
