The Meaning of Geese
Auditorium 115 Plan, Friday 4 Oct 2024, 19:30
- ends at 20:30
Starved of work and people by the lockdowns of 2020-21, naturalist Nick Acheson climbed on his mother's 42-year-old red bicycle and launched into a winter of wild geese.
Over seven months Nick cycled 1,200 miles in the company of North Norfolk's Arctic-breeding geese and of the people who watch them, paint them, hunt them and study them.
His book The Meaning of Geese is a song of love to geese. It was named East Anglian Book of the Year 2023 and featured in the top three of the British Birds Bird Book of the Year.
Nick will be signing his latest book later in the evening.
This is a fundraiser for the Fisher Theatre.
