Nic will discuss and demonstrate a variety of approaches to playing traditional tunes on the mandolin, using repertoire from a broad cross-section of traditions and genres.

Throughout the session a number of different accompaniment styles will be covered, as well as looking at effective ways of embellishing solo playing by using alternate and cross-picking techniques with an emphasis on bluegrass and old-time tunes.

Suitable for listening participants, but bring a mandolin if you have one!
