Belated Confessions of a Gay Delinquent (12+)
Auditorium 115 Plan, Wednesday 29 May 2024, 19:30
- ends at 20:50
What’s the difference between an invert and a pervert?
How do you spot a “homo”?
And is your dolly old eek bona?
Marking 47 openly gay years, Stephen Poulter presents a new, one man show of personal reminiscences, hidden history and nostalgia.
He’ll tell the story of persecution, gay pride and the fight for homosexual equality from 1950 to 1990.
Criminalised aged 19 for expressing his sexuality, he later researched the history of homosexuality in Britain for his 1991 book Peers, Queers & Commons and the subsequent TV documentary he produced for Channel 4 in 1998.
Suitable for ages 12+
Will include historic terms and references which reflect the prejudices and homophobia of earlier decades.
