Three Short Plays about Love & loss in the Second World War (U)
A collection of stories with the theme of wartime memory. In 3rd September Dorothy, an evacuee, remembers her time away from home during the ‘Phoney War’ and how her life would change for ever. The Very Thought of You transports us to a seaside town on the east coast and an unrequited love story that began in 1942. Late Closing makes a welcome return to The Fisher after its first performance here in 2020 and tells the story of a veteran rear gunner’s flight over Germany.
Local writers, Victoria Panton Bacon (Six Weeks of Blenheim Summer, Remarkable Journeys of the Second World War and Remarkable Women of the Second World War) and William Drew-Batty (The Unknown Bird, Flannan Isle) join with a cast of local actors to bring you an evening of storytelling that promises to be funny, sad, poignant and reflective.
