Black Shuck, malevolent devil’s hound with blazing red eyes, roams the countryside terrorising the rich and poor alike.

Against this backdrop of fear and paranoia, an orphan, a battle-worn soldier, and lonesome dancer each attempt to solve the mystery of the demon dog - all the while, out of strife, new love looks to blossom and bloom.
