Synopsis

A riotous British comedy inspired by events which scandalised the residents of Littlehampton in the early 1920s.

Edith Swan, a respectable spinster born and bred in the town, is not the only resident to receive poison-pen letters full of profanities.

Suspicion falls on Edith’s foul-mouthed Irish neighbour, Rose, who is tried for the crime. However, the townswomen suspect that something about the evidence doesn’t ring true and start their own investigation.
