Synopsis
Steve stands at the forefront of English concertina innovation, celebrated for his masterful song accompaniments and one of the finest voices on the folk scene.
A gifted multi-instrumentalist, he launched his solo career in 1980, having toured for most of the 70s with Geordie band Canny Fettle, and by 1986 had already released 4 albums.
Now with ten albums to his name - including his latest, A Host of Furious Fancies, released this January - and collaborations with some of the UK’s leading folk musicians, he remains a compelling presence on stages across the UK and overseas.
"Every recording Turner makes is magnificent ... a great interpreter of song" - Nigel Packett (The Goose is Out) Folk London
“For me in terms of song accompaniment, he is the foremost concertina player of his generation - the Master" – Pete Heywood, Living Tradition
This is a free event but you must book a ticket.
