Synopsis

This unique double bill brings together two of our most exciting folk performers. During the evening they will share something of their own unique musical journey but also delight us with some collaborative performances.

Sam Kelly

Sam Kelly is a BBC Radio 2 Folk Award winning musician, singer, songwriter, and producer from Norfolk, UK and what’s even better…. He is our BFF patron. We were delighted back in 2024 when Sam agreed to be our patron and his support and commitment to the festival has been nothing short of amazing.

Described by legendary folk broadcaster Mike Harding as ‘one of my favourite singers ever’ and by Cara Dillon as ‘an amazing singer with so much soul’, Sam has become one of the most accomplished and well-respected musicians on the UK folk scene.

Monique Clare

Wielding a cello, powerhouse vocals and magnetic onstage energy, Monique Clare is a multi award-winning songwriter who’s deeply personal storytelling and arresting authenticity has elicited cathartic tears and laughter from audiences around the world.

Her intrepid career has ranged from teaching music in war-torn Afghanistan to playing cello with Eminem to a crowd of 80,000 people, touring her acclaimed album ‘Sight’ to festivals across Europe and leading hikers up mountainsides for sunrise concerts.

With an innovative style that shatters preconceptions of cello playing, a disarmingly candid stage presence and a smile as wide as the Cheshire cat's, her live show is offbeat and impactful.
