Synopsis

The lady of the house descends into the servants’ quarters as a passionate night of celebration turns to tragedy. Marber’s gripping play of class divisions and forbidden desire is an updated version of August Strindberg’s classic drama, Miss Julie, relocating the action to the night of Labour’s 1945 landslide General Election victory.
