A Complete Unknown charts the rise to fame of the young Bob Dylan during the years after his arrival in NYC in 1961.
While capturing the bohemian atmosphere of Greenwich Village in the early 60s and showing the singer’s extraordinary creativity at the time, the film’s trump card is the music itself, all sung (and played) by the exceptionally gifted cast.
Timothee Chalamet, in particular, conveys not only the potency of Dylan’s songs but also his magnetism as a performer.
